Today I created a Multi Touch input device for my Mac.
Not because I needed one, not because I had nothing better to do... But because I could. Because it is fun.
I started out by putting my MacBook on the floor, with the display facing upwards. I then took a box and cut a hole in the bottom to make room for my laptop. I put the box over my MacBook.
After that I took a sheet of glass and put a sheet of paper on it. I placed it on top of the box. I connected my MacBook to an external monitor a…

Today I am just going to blog abit on just randomness that has been running through my mind this morning. No tips, no tricks, no mods... Just random noise
I have been having a running conversation with Dan about software, antivirals, antimalware and OS's.. Standard Compugeek chatter. I noticed a thread through or convos.. Bloatware
Bloatware is a term used to describe an application that uses a disapproportionate share of your computer's resources, be it RAM, HDD space or CPU cycles. We have a…

About a week or 2 ago, I opened a new site called Geeky Tutorials. Just like the name says, it is a site that has tutorials about geeky like things. So far we have under 12 posts, and it is just me and my friend John writing for it now. We have an average of 30 unique visitors per day, which isn’t terrible for a site that just opened. As of now, I have written tutorials on mostly Linux stuff and my friend, John, wrote a tutorial on batch. Anyone can become an author, as long as you have knowledg…

I will come back to youtube! I hope that some of you are happy about this and I hope that you are glad. I would like to mention though what I am going to do with it. I am going to only be posting video blogs there and I want to clarify that. I will be able to do that instant upload thing because I think think is great for video blogs. I will keep my real content here. I have not been able to make that account and i don't have the time to film a vid to let you know. But this is proof that I will…

In this episode of Southern Fried Geeks, there was a whole lot going on. In episode 7, we discussed the Microsoft-Yahoo deal. Yes, we know it's old news, but we haven't shot the show in so long! There was lots to talk about, such as Bing and Yahoo mail, which we both had mixed opinions about. Later, I(kung fu gamer) brought my waterproof camera onto the set to do a little dissection, which didn't go as planned as you'll see in the video. I sort of combined the dissection and destroying, but it w…

Ah Linux, a very powerful yet weak Operating System. I have been using Linux (mainly Ubuntu) for years now. But in May of 2009 I dove into a 100% Linux world. I had reformatted my hard drive and only had Linux Ubuntu 9.04 installed on the system (64-bit). Things were going great in the wonderful world of Linux. Then of course I ran into some bugs, but also some software compatibility with programs and lack there of. Linux had turned into an obsession for me to use as a main OS. It was a wonderfu…

It's true isn't it? Most geeks seem to like to work in the wee hours. Why is that. As a Nerd I actually prefer to get up early. I am up late now because it's Saturday night, but most nights I am in bed early so I can start early.

If you have noticed, and you probably have not, that I have been inactive for a couple of days, and even if I've been on Geeks, I haven't posted anything interesting (not saying I usually do).
There's a simple reason for that:
School -
it's like working 10 hours a day... - no -
It IS working 10 hours a day.
I have 7 lessons each day. Each lesson is 45 minutes. The breaks between lessons are 10 minutes each, there's 5 of them. There's a 40 minute lunch break which is usually spent…

So some people have been wondering what do I use to record my computer screen, well,it's not a camera, it;s a free program called, camstudio, here's the link, however theres a few things that I have to discuss about this.
http://camstudio.org/
this is free, however it isnt the best quality, so the way I personally fix it, is with Sony Vegas Pro 8, which isnt a free program, but if your doing just basic captures, it should look fine.
Another thing about tech stuff, is how do I hook up my lapto…
