I never understood why everyone is so obsessed about "unboxing" videos, it baffled me even more why I loved unboxing videos as much. Like seriously, "unboxing" isn't even a word. Is it the surprise factor of not knowing what's inside, or maybe it's the krinkly sound that the packaging makes. Sometimes the packaging is as ingenius as the product itself. Well, I was bored the other day, and so I opened youtbe and put together a video that illustrates the real sensation
Hopefully I shaved for a good cause because this is my first ever giveaway. I'm a giving away a 500 Gb Western Digital MyBook, in its box with everything included (cords). I'll ship anywhere in the world. Here are the rules to enter;....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glVZ9Ys4OIUContinue

I was looking at a tech article a couple of months ago about a external backup device for windows based PCs that is like the apple time machine device.
What was that device? :) (memory lacks) Continue
I’m currently using windows XP Toshiba laptop. I was trying to use my Toshiba 400 Gig external hard drive to put partitions on it with partition magic. During the process some error’s came up one is saying that it is bad {disk 2 (381554mb 3052432c 8h 32s) appears to have partitions created using a different geometry (255h 63s).this serious problem can lead to data loss. No partition manipulations should be made to this disk using this product or the operating system’s products. you should back u… Continue

Use old internal hard drives for free storage
Have an unused internal hard drive sitting around? Maybe you upgraded a laptop hard drive to a bigger capacity, or you pulled an internal drive from a desktop PC before selling it. You can put either kind back to work as extra, free storage.
Inside a desktop PC: 2.5-inch laptop and 3.5-inch PC SATA drives use identical connections, which means that a recent laptop hard drive can work instantly.
If you want to install a laptop drive in a PC, remembe… Continue

I have an external hard drive to backup all of my content for my MacBook but I don't want to carry it all over the house, is there a way to connect it to my Mac Mini and use it like somebody would on an AirPort Extreme (you know, connect it and share it on the Network). Continue
Today I got this Maxtor OneTouch 4 250GB External Hard Drive.
Seems a bit annoying when I started up after installing it, I had to turn my laptop off manually because the hard drive interfered when starting up, Trying to fix the problem now hopefully it'll work.
I'll post another blog after this hoping it's fixed itself. Continue
Lately with the demands that Full Sail University is giving me, I need advise on purchasing some items. I'm looking for a nice portable hard drive to carry around to store HD video on. HD video is a bitch to store but I think i'm up to the challenge of managing all that. In essence here's what i'm looking for...
- Firewire 800 preferably
- 320 to 500 gig
- not Western Digital
I've heard good things about Seagate and Lacie and great things about G-drive but I just don't think I have the bucks.… Continue
When it comes to external storage, the iPod really goes overlooked. It may look small, but some of these devices can pack up to 160Gb of data! Don't go out and buy a new external drive for a hundred bucks or so; if you have an old or current iPod laying around, use it to store your data. It is extremely portable and easily accessible through USB. Here's a few simple steps to make your iPod storage capable.
1. Connect the iPod to your computer. If iTunes does not automatically open, open up iTun… Continue

Thnk about it... what is your ultimate external hard drive? There are many different sizes and styles and formats but think about it... what is the ultimate external hard drive? Some people think that Firewire is the best, which it could be but it's not as readily available as USB 2.0. Even so the Firewire usually provided on a PC is Firewire 400, which is slower than USB 2.0. Now if you have a Mac you will get Firewire 800, unless you get a new macbook, and Firewire 800 is faster than USB 2.0 b… Continue

About a year ago myself an my mum (mom to my American brethren) chipped together and bought a 500gb external HDD so that my Desktop PC (running Windows at the time) could encompass the enormity of our combined iTunes. As you can see from my specs, both machines I own have puny HDDs, so to store the many films/tv shows we converted from dvd, and my 20 gigabytes of nasty heavy metal music (as well as my mum's rather pathetic 5 gigabytes of pop/rock) an external drive of immense capacity was requir… Continue
While shopping around for external hard drives earlier today (spotted a good deal on a Lacie too) I thought to myself "Can a NAS ever get viruses?" I'm sure they can, and I'm sure they can be very very nasty. What I'd like to hear about from all you wonderful people regards External Hard Drives and NAS antivirus. I was a little disturbed at how little talk there is about this.
The reason I'm buying an external hard drive is to back up an old dell. It's about 9 years old at this stage, and it re… Continue
Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me. I have an external hard drive that a friend gave to me. Its a Western Digital 320 GB external. Problem - it switched over the RAW file system. Every time i check out "my Computer" and see the local drive - i KNOW that something is wrong - its supposed to say My Book. When I click on it it says "The volume X: is not formatted. Do you want to format it now?" I'm used a few system recovery tools and i can only use the demos out there and they only allow m… Continue
