What is Lockerz ?
Lockerz was launched in its beta stages in August and is being probably the best source electronics for all you geeks out there. I have signed up to all these "Free xbox, PS3 etc website", yes most of them do work BUT! what is unique about Lockerz is that when you join you get to play a short game that allows you to catch points (I caught 45 - that means i am 50 points away from a PS3 or Xbox game)

I have always heard stories of heat damage to electronics. The day Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was released I waited in line for 13 hours in the scorching heat of the sun. I had left my NetBook in the hot car for the majority of the day, but around 2 PM I decided to pull it out of the car and stick it under an umbrella to try to get the heat off of it. Well, when it came time to use my NetBook to watch the Harry Potter films in line, it began to have issues playing the movies.

On Friday, I went to Best Buy with my friend Kelvin to get a laptop. I came with him so he wouldn’t get ripped off, and at least get a mediocre (laptop) for his budget, which was $700. He wouldn’t let me build a PC, and I don’t know how to make laptops so I guess I’m just another “I like that one it’s pretty!” buyer. The n00bishness is emanating! Well anyways I installed Spore, Atlantica Online, and MySims(which he wanted) on his laptop with NO-CD’s and they’re working perfectly! I also finished… Continue
I like to browse but not buy and here is why. They always talk to you like you do not know what you are doing. When I know what I want they always try to make sure it is the right thing or is compatible or they try to throw other offers at you. It is easier on the internet because there is nobody there to talk to you.

Hey all,
Light Emitting Diodes, or more commonly referred to as LED's, have remained, mostly, a hidden gem of electronic geeks enthusiasm everywhere. Since the "wonderful" (and I use that term sarcastically) movie from Mr Al Gore, green technology is becoming increasingly mainstream in today's society.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that Mr Gore's actions have jump started society into action, but as to why I sarcastically refer to his movie as "wonderful," pertains to his obvious lack of cons… Continue
Since the App Store started six months ago it has really revolutionized the iPhone and
portable iPod Touch markets. With now more than 15,000 apps available for the iPhone and iPod Touch it has really opened the door for the user to do almost anything with these two devices. The possibilities are almost endless and has turned these two devices into mini portable computers. There are tons of apps available, but these are just a few of my favorites. What are your favorite apps?
1) Units: This coo… Continue

I looked around for a while in lots of different places and couldn’t find any tutorials that told you how to set up a mail account that is privately hosted, with your iTouch or iPhone. This gave me a perfect opportunity to be the first one to teach everyone that doesn’t know. So if you have been wondering how to do this, keep reading, because I think I can help.
For this tutorial you don’t need to have it be jailbroken. First get out your iPhone or iPod Touch and make sure you have the mail app… Continue

Laser safety, get some before you blind yourself. That said:
I've been working on a laser spirograph for a couple of weeks (months now?), on and off, and not really getting anywhere with it. I made a control panel to just the rotation of the mirrors, made a mount for the motors/laser and even put it on a tripod so I could change its direction with a deft flick of the wrist. Yes, it is awesome, thank you!
Anyway, tore all of that apart tonight in a fit of boredom. I can still mount it all back… Continue
1. See it for yourself. Never blindly buy a product out of somewhere like a catalog or the internet without seeing it first. This way you can look at all of the sets and compare them. Just go anywhere like Circuit City, Bust Buy, CompUSA or any local electronics store. Once you decide the model you are going to buy, you could then get it off a catalog or the internet or wherever.
2. Buy for your needs. In other words, buy the TV for how you are going to use it. For instance, you would not want… Continue
We all take things for granted from time to time, well, I'll never take the use of a work-bench for granted again. Living in the barracks I lack one, hell, don't even have room for one if I had one. Anyway, right now I'm working on a laser Spirograph and doing most of the work on the floor of my room, tell you what, my knees and lower back are KILLING me. So far, I have the control box built (at least the panel portion) and I'… Continue

There are a select few of us that laugh in the face of potential death. I might possibly be one of them, it's more of a chuckle though. I'm going to be mixing up a batch of etching solution soon that will eat though most metals. I'm going to be using it to etch my own PC Boards for my robot and many other projects. Eventually I may design a PC Card as a robot controller instead of relying on the COM and LPT ports. Anyways I'll be mixing Hydrogen Peroxide with Muriatic Acid and then finalizing th… Continue
Are you a geek? I know I am, that's why I shop at www.Geeks.com. I have been a customer of several elctronics/computer websites in the past. Some include Newegg, TigerDirect and of course the occasional eBay purchase. The reason why Geeks.com stands out to me, is the very low prices. Sometimes I think, "How can they make money on this?". For example: a 22in WideScreen 1080p HP display monitor, for $189.99. That is the best deal that I have ever seen on one of those, and there is MANY more deals… Continue
