Austin Mouse Help

I have gotten a USB logitech mouse for xmas. Well about a week ago things started getting funny. The mouse was skipping in and out of moving. Then it went dead, like dead. So as usual with any mouse i pulled out my AA batteries like any normal guy would. I put them in and turned it on and plugged the wireless reciever in.
