If you have not heard a windows vista machine is able to run a screen saver as the desktop background. Well up until now that has been one small thing that the PC enthusiasts were able to get me on. But now I have screen saver. Screen Saver is a nifty little dashboard widget that will allow you to run an OS X screen saver as your desktop background. Watch the video embedded below to find out who to get and use this neat little pice of freeware.
[NOTE: In order to get this in Full 1080p HD so you…

I will come back to youtube! I hope that some of you are happy about this and I hope that you are glad. I would like to mention though what I am going to do with it. I am going to only be posting video blogs there and I want to clarify that. I will be able to do that instant upload thing because I think think is great for video blogs. I will keep my real content here. I have not been able to make that account and i don't have the time to film a vid to let you know. But this is proof that I will…

Regardless of operating system we ALL have a desktop so my question to you is what do you have in yours right now? Also do you tend to have a lot of files in it that should be organized and stored in other places?Because my desktop is always a mess!and I find it VERY boring to clean it up!:P
P.S.:Sorry for any incorrect tipping.

A while ago a
Phillip sent me a link to a website called “
Fences” an app that allows you to organise your desktop icons without anything that would take up a lot of memory and slow down your computer. The three things that I noticed in the first few hours of using it was the amount of memory that it used (tiny would be an overstatement) how easy it was to use and…

Just installed bumptop today. Looks nice, and a bit fun when you feel like throwing icons around. Let's see just how long it keeps my interest before I REVO it all together.

I was getting a bit bored of the classic vista theme and boring wallpapers. So i just fixed it up and it ended up really nice.
I must admit that i love the windows 7 design, so i tried to do the same just in Vista (It came with my computer, i'm more a xp kinda guy. Changed the theme, and removed the next so only the icons are showing. Maybe a little confusing, but really simple design. :D

#8 - Where Do You Think Is The Best Start Menu Position On The Desktop ?
Ok so i recently have installled XP and created a dual boot function to work with Vista anyway i can now run the two OS and get the choice to boot into either on startup. However in Vista i have been using the start menu at the defaulted bottom but in XP i decided to go bit wacky and use it at the Top i have found personally that its better at the top , takes some getting use to but once you do its perfect , well it is for…

If you are like me setting a desktop background is really not something that you spend much time on. However it is nice to have something cool or maybe even something better than just a picture. There are a few things out there that will allow you to have something other than just a still photo as your background. One of those programs is OS X Planet. You can download it
Here.
This is an application that allows you to have a live image of the Earth as your…

I was on Youtube and saw a video that Chris had made which involved VNC. I headed straight to the website and downloaded the free version, after a few mins installing and configuring it was all done. I've never seen an easier way to connect computers on a network. I can now view my Ustream broadcast console running on my netbook on my desktop which is awsome. It is also useful for helping other users around the house, they can IM or email me with their issue and, from the comfort of my own room,…

If you use Twitter then then you know how hard it is to keep track of what everyone is saying. You might also know about desktop clients for twitter. I have used a couple over the past while and would like to shed some light on each one (keep in mind I’m on a mac).
I started using them when an unnamed you personality said that they use Twhirl. At first I thought it was very good and it is but not as good as I first thought. I saw limited functionality, also I did not like the fact that when I c…

Hey guys, I just bought a new HP desktop PC and am currently using an HP laptop PC. I know how easy it is to copy my files from this computer to the new one, however, is there a way to copy all of the PROGRAMS, not files, to the new one while still having them on the old laptop? I really don't want to have to go back to all of the websites and pull out all of the installation CDs again while still having to reconfigure all of the settings back to the way I like it for the programs. By the way, I…

I am a huge fan of abstract wallpaper and have recently discovered there are a lot of geeks who are fans of it as well, so I have put put together and uploaded my collection for everyone here at geeks to use. This wallpaper collection includes 320 of the best high quality abstract wallpapers. I have put together and added a photobucket sideshow, these images are thumbnail previews of each individual wallpaper so you can get a idea of what kind of wallpapers are included in this collection pack.…
