iPod Touch/iPhone - How To Restore From A Backup Faster

If restoring from a backup takes a long time, then you might have to clear out some stuff, 1. Delete any applications that you are not using 2. After the move to a new apartment I was going through the music CD´s that I´ve got. Some of them gave the CD reader a headake, they started to get old and harder to read. So now I have started to make backup of them all on my computer. Not as MP3´s but as image files. I want to keep them as they are, not compressed.
