Michael You Get What You Pay For?

PC’s that run Microsoft windows are the majority of what the world uses. For the most part most home users and most businesses use PC’s running Microsoft Windows. Though some places and some people use Mac’s. Why is this? Is it style choice? Are Mac’s easier to use? See the Rest at http://mikesworldoftech.squarespace.com/ Continue

Michael Google VS Microsoft

Last week I was listening to Windows Weekly and I thought that they brought up a good point about Google and Microsoft. That was Microsoft really has never had a computer like Google. If you go back and look when Netscape wanted to be the new Microsoft, Microsoft crushed them with IE 3. Why is that? Well Netscape just didn’t have the money to compete with them. Google on the other hand dose have the money. I really think this is what Microsftys have nightmares about at night. A company that has… Continue

Michael IS Chrome OS The Windows Killer

Google came out and showed what they have of Chrome OS so far. It boots in 7 sec’s, its secure, and from the moment you hit the power button you are online. I have herd people that think that Chrome OS could be a Windows killer. The video that Google made to explain it is below. To see the rest go to http://mikesworldoftech.squarespace.com/ Continue

James Hill Can't afford a Mac? Don't like windows crap? Maybe Ubuntu 9.10 is the go?

Hello everyone, this posts is my first one in ages so bare with me as I try and get my skill back. Okay, the start of the story goes something like this. I got a virus I had to format my beloved hard disk and I could not be bothered to install windows again and put up with its crap all over again, even though windows 7 is a dream. But anyway, I installed Ubuntu's latest and greatest instalment, version 9.10 and I have to say well done, like seriously. I love it.... So far. To install programs a… Continue

Mike Copeland Pocket God

Pocket God is actually an ok game to play when you’re bored. Basically you’re a God like being to Pygmies. You can strike them with lighting, throw them in the Volcano, or feed them to a shark. There are many ways to handle these little guys, and you know what they are some little troopers. No matter how bad it is they always come back for more. The application is updated on a regular basis, each update brings something new, and a hint is in the Episode title. The most recent… Continue

Mike Copeland The Plateau

This game starts out easy but gradually gets harder as the levels progress. I play this game to work my mind, it really gets you to thinking. Basically the game is trying to untangle the lines. No line should cross another, a good line goes green while a bad one goes red, and the orange lines are neutral. The game can get addicting, not as addicting as Sudoku but close, reminds of when I used to spend time trying to solve the Rubik’s Cube. The game is $4.99 in the iTunes App… Continue

peter zhang The Top 15 Reason why Mac are better than windows pc

1.sleep mode The killer feature of every Mac which can’t be underestimated (and you don’t realise how important it is until you own a Mac) is OS X’s 100% reliable, near-instant suspend and resume. Windows PCs have just never had this. Reliability on Windows is hit and miss, and it’s nowhere near instant. As a result most people are in the habit of shutting down their PC totally — or worse, leaving them on 24/7, chewing up power. The difference between Mac and Windows in this respect is the di… Continue

iJ0nathan Apple Finally fighting back against hackintoshers? (UPDATE)

If you haven't noticed, a LOT of people use hackintoshes, or are interested in it. If you talk in #chris on GeekShed, you are well aware of the hackintosh scene, "what is eula" may possibly be on the of the most used commands other than "!rules" and "what is spam", In fact, I have a hackintosh laptop myself. I have a Dell XPS M140 that is currently running Mac OS Leopard 10.5.8, And I love it! In a recent dev build of Snow Leopard, people found out that apple removed support for the Intel Atom P… Continue

Jacob Iphone V.S. the Androids Channeling the Mac V.S. PC War

All i have been hearing lately is how the iphone has severe problems and apple is not addressing them. Usually following this "rant", i hear something about an Android Operating System based Phone. How people love the phone, how its so easy to use, how there are so many applications for it. While those claims may or may not be true they seem a lot like the Mac v.s. PC wars claims. The mass use of the Android operating system on several different devices make it just like the "windows" of… Continue

Johannes S. London

As I wrote the following text, I was in London. This originally appeared on johannessiig.com just a few minutes after writing this: Part 1: First impressions I am in a room with two other people. I’m in a cheap hostel. It has wi-fi, but I had to pay for it. £15. The sheets are clean, the bed is somewhat comfortable. London is f**king huge! No, seriously. HUGE! When I arrived at Stansted Airport, which was f*cking huge, we went on a bus, which took us right to our hostel. At the hos… Continue

Adam iTunes 9

Since I am short on time, this will be a post on my thoughts on the latest version of iTunes. At first, I wasn’t to fond of the new iTunes Store look, but after I started to adjust to it, things got better. The nice UI is definitely a win when it comes to iTunes. The iTunes DJ, in my opinion, is pretty good….. if your a DJ. The home sharing feature is excellent, especially since I got my MacBook. I can transfer everything I have on iTunes via this feature and it has saved me a LOT of time. As I… Continue

Adam MacBook

Coming up on two weeks ago, my Windows laptop died and I decided to purchase a MacBook. Since then, I no longer have any Window’s computers in my house. I have been using a Mac as my primary OS since June of 2008 and have loved it. This is the second Mac I have every owned and it runs better than any other laptop I have ever owned. The laptop is fast, reliable, and actually works for me. Now, as some of you may know, a few days ago Apple introduced the new MacBook. Since I bought the MacBook at… Continue

Outsanity A Personal Review Of The New Macs

So, on October 10th, 2009, Apple came out with brand spanking new Macs. They made updates to the iMacs, Mac Mini, MacBook, the mouse and remote. Here's my impressions of what I seen on the Apple website. The new iMacs: I must say, I'm rather impressed by the new design. I love that it has 4 USB ports and now an SD card slot just below the SuperDrive. They now come in 21.5 and 27 inches for a bigger display for watching your HD content. Sadly, no Blu-Ray but if it was added, it would really make… Continue

Jacob AT&T Trips over themselves.

I saw the ad for the Garmin Nuvi phone last week. I was impressed. It seem like a pretty cool device. But the first thought in my head was that their 3G was stretched to the max with all the Iphones. Now if this is true, then how can the nuvi phone, which obviously needs 3G, be able to work. They claimed that adding the MMS to Iphone was bad enough for the network, so how will this possibly help the problem. I Can't help but think that AT&T clomped* In my family, clomped means screwing y… Continue

Craighton Miller Apple Wireless Keyboard

Over all it is a very thin sleek keyboard. Having used it for about a month it is a very sturdy keyboard and is is worth the money. It is relatively cheap compared to other keyboards. Yes, it is small and there is one button I wish I had on this and that is the DEL button. This keyboard is compatible with Mac and Windows, all you really need it a bluetooth device and you are set. Over all this is a great keyboard and I would recommend it to anyone who is out in the market looking for a keyboard! Continue
