The FTC is at it again and this time it is not Microsoft they are looking at this time, it is Intel. Yes Intel our best friend that could never do anything wrong to us… right? Well nothing is public yet and the trial is not until September of 2010 but we can take a look at the market today, and look at what is out there for us to get. Well if you were to walk into a Wal-Mart and look at they got you will probably see 10 computers and maybe one of them will has a AMD chip in it. Why is this well…

I'm trying to buy a new motherboard because the network card on my Asus P5K has stopped working. My problem is that there is so much choice and i'm not having a lot of confidence and i'm getting really confused with all the prices and so many different types. The other thng is i also need a motherboard that will fit my ATI/AMD HD 4890 so that the GPU won't snatch away other slots underneath it's hugeness. That fan cover is mighty!
Here is the site i'm looking at…

I'm having trouble using the GPU Scaling in the catalyst control center with my HD 4890. The only way i could get the HDMI jack in my monitor to scale up full is to use the slider and not tick the GPU scalng box as you can see in the picture.
How can i fix this?

I was spouse to write about this a while ago but I never hat time for it.
Running games on AMD CPUs 125 Wat will cause random freezing during any game out there
especially on motherboards with AMD 690V chipset for example M2A-MX from ASUS
The only way to solve this problem is to buy new motherboard, but check it first if it runs 125w CPU.
be careful only MSI motherboards ( very expensive ) run 125 wat, for more cheaper solution I suggest Asus M2N-SLI or M2N-SLI Express.

I won't lie to you. Motherboards are...tricky. If you're building your own computer for the first time, like me, then you'd better pay attention to the specs on the motherboards. Motherboards make all the parts of the computer work. Without it, you just have a pile of parts that do nothing. Everything gets plugged into the motherboard. As such, you have to pay attention if your parts and compatible with your motherboard.
First of all, are you getting an Intel or an AMD CPU? If you aren't sure y…

Another entry for those of you out there researching new computers. This is probably a decision you're likely to make: AMD or Intel, which is better? Sometimes OEMs force this decision on their customers by only providing one or the other. Sometimes it's a lot of one and not so many of the other. Most OEMs are more likely to support Intel than AMD. But what's the difference?
Well, I can tell you right now that they're pretty much exactly the same in quality. I've been assured, however, that AMD…

Now that I might have a potential buyer for my current rig that I don't use I am now in the stage of picking out new parts for my next rig. This might sound particularly exciting but it sucks. I keep forgetting my uses and start building another tree burning computer.
This happens to every geek when selecting new hardware, you start to thn "oh, I can afford that" "I need that (when you don't)" and all those other small things, that constantly nag you.
So, what are my plans for my next rig at t…

Well since I have received no feed back from my last post I think I might try something new. AMD has decided to go full steam ahead with 12 and you guessed it 16 core Opteron CPU's. This is fantastic news for us hardware junkies. This means we can soon expect 6 core and beyond desktop processors.
Since today is the aniversary of the single core Opteron CPU AMD thought they would come out of the closet (no offense AMD) and release some news. They will be going full steam ahead with their 6 core…

The Intel and AMD warfare has been going on for quite some time now, like Apple and Microsoft. These two companies have different ideology and opinions towards each other and their products. I have been watching Blue take the lead in the performance, overclocking and gaming sector for the past decade (no not really but sure feels like it). Now AMD has taken back the overclocking crown with the ever punishable cold bug solved their latest Phenom II Processors. What does this mean for us?
This me…

Now i myself have always been an Nvidia man. Wether it be the onboard Nvidia GPU chips of my laptop to my 6200 and 8600GTS, i've always gone Nvidia. In the same way i've stuck to Intel. Well in one roll of the dice ive gone back one both of those and got an Force 3D HD 4870 with Freezer DHT (pictured below):

Hey people of the pc world i am here to ask for your help.
Everyone knows and talks about how good intel is and how rubish people think amd is but we NEED THEM.
Think about it if amd go under then there is no more ati and if there is no more ati or amd there is some bad things to happen.
1 All nvidia and intel products can charge whatever they wont as there is no compertition.
2 ATI make the chips for the wii and xbox360 and maybe more what happens then will we see the end of them?
So come o…

Compare & Contrast: AMD vs. Intel
There are countless companies in the computer industry but there is only one battle that counts... AMD vs. Intel. AMD and Intel are the top two CPU's and are the most commonly used today. Intel is used a lot in office work and when you are running lots of programs at the same time, Intel. AMD was designed for gaming and little office work. It is ge…

As most of you guys may know, the Intel Core i7's were just released. Also, AMD will be releasing the 45nm (45 nanometer) versions of the AMD Phenom X3 and X4 very soon. This means that the older Core 2 Quad and Extreme CPUs will be climbing down and price, and so will the 65nm AMD Phenoms. AMD Phenoms have already been going down in price as I have noticed on NewEgg.com. In the past few months, the AMD Phenom 9950 Black Edition has dropped from over $200 to $173 USD. I do not plan to get either…
