"It occurs to me that as they seek to overwhelm every system, we are all going to be faced with individually-overwhelming force, and it will be much more necessary to help our neighbors and friends in ways we would never have done before. Prayers will be needed. Service will be needed. Work will be needed. No more living near people and never knowing a thing about them. We will have to become a whole network of support for one another. If we don’… Continue

Q) I wish to dispose of an old computer and I understand that the best way of protecting the personal information on the hard disk (my bank details and so on) is to remove the hard disk and break it up with a hammer, and then the other computer parts can be used by a third party. Can you advise how to go about this process?
A) The rather odd advice to smash your hard disk if you’re getting rid of a computer was recently propagated by a national magazine (not one related to Computeractive, we ha… Continue
After looking at the pricing and details of the release of Windows 7 in the EU, I noticed that they would not be including a web browser (which I have tweeted about before). However, the thought just crossed my mind about all the people out there who are not at all competent or confident with computers. They may be purchasing their first and only PC and it's loaded with WIndows 7, they have also just subscribed to broadband - but can't get on the internet.
I think Microsoft have made a huge mis… Continue

Today, California had to meeting to determine whether Prop. 8 is constitutional. They upheld Prop. 8, which denies same-sex couple the right to marry. Personally, I feel this is a bunch of bullshit. “Marriage is between a man and a women, Matthew, it says so in the Bible.”, my friend told me. Well, the Bible also says to “love they neighbor as thyself” and “Do unto others as you would want done unto you.” Also “separation of church and state.” Do not mention any religion in political matters any… Continue
About a week ago, Apple released a new version of the Mac Pro, looking at the specs etc, i was just wondering what the 8 core means? If anyone knows and if so i would be very grateful if you could comment. Continue

To be completely honest I haven't been following the release dates for Windows 7 because I haven't been very excited about a new Windows version. With the last release (Vista) being delayed so many times and rumours about this date and that date, I gave up on Microsoft's schedule.
I downloaded the beta yesterday and installed it on a Dell D620 which is one of my test machines at work. There is no question that Microsoft really improved the installation process when Vista came out and they are u… Continue

First of all, I am not from California. I am not gay either. However, I do think this is an issue that affects all of America. I would like to clear a few things up about Prop 8:
1. You will NOT get arrested for not believing in gay marriage, you have a right to your opinion. However, you would get arrested if you were to do something to interfere with someone's rights. Churches wouldn't lose their tax-exempt status either, that only happens if they get involved in politics. There's this thing… Continue

I have Windows Vista 32 bit, and I just went to go and plug in my iPod Touch and what happens? I get a bluescreen!
So when my computer came back on I tried it again and the same thing happens! This never happened with iTunes 7.7 and it seems like I am not the only one thank god!
Apple really needs to fix this!
Who else is having this problem?
P.S. I am going to play around with this and see what I come up with, and if I find the solution I will inform you all. Continue
So, the long awaited iTunes 8 has finally been released! Thank God, I have been waiting for something like this for a long, long time, a music player that will nit only play all my music but also give me access to 3rd party apps and a smart playlist which tells me what music I would also like. But the big question for me is will the addition of the 'genius bar' make last.FM unwanted, right now I think the answer is no. But this idea is certainly one that one day i'm sure will put apple in the re… Continue

First I want to say that the Magnetosphere Visualizer, just named "iTunes Visualizer", is AWESOME! But I think there might be a stability issue with it. Every time I exit the visualizer, using Windows XP, It freezes and I have to manually "End Task". You may be thinking, "It's probably because your using a computer from 1999." The visualizer was running on my laptop. SPECS: 2GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHZ, and integrated graphics. OK, maybe my graphics isn't that good, but everything else is s… Continue
I've had my iPod Touch for a month now and I haven't had any problems with it. My favorite app that I bought for it is either Super Monkey Ball or Aqua Forest. I finally made it to the third world and sixth level in Super Monkey Ball! I already beat Aqua Forest, some of the puzzle levels were really hard like "Easy does it!"
Koi Pond is the most recent one I just bought and I haven't had any problems with it. Continue
So yeah last night, or this morning how ever you want to look at it but it was technically this morning, i made the decision to completely rework my music list. Instead of the more modern and generalized music i had, i went with one specialized idea (read above). I got a good list going so far but i know i'm a long ways off before completing it. Still looking for some key tracks, if I cant come up with a full 100 on just nes, ill have to jump into snes, which i kinda already did. but the list is… Continue
