The truth of malware today is that it is a cat-and-mouse game between the criminals/hackers and the security people. The hackers are ready to take advantage of every opportunity. Recently, former beauty contestant Carrie Prejean was in the news. It was just hours later that there were malware and spyware sites using the "Carrie Prejean" search to infect computers.
Firewalls and security products are absolutely necessary. This space makes it a regular habit of reminding our readers of the need t…

WARNING! The following post contains "profane" words in a reported manner. If you are deeply religious or otherwise can not stand anything closely related to reproduction, please, do not read this post for the sake of your mental health. Otherwise, carry on reading.
If you've read some of my posts, you probably know I sometimes use profanity. Sometimes I use the word "b*tch," sometimes I use the word "f*ck." Sometimes I use the word "sh*t."
But, what's so bad about those words, actually…

Over the last few weeks, when I have had time, I have been building a new website for my wife and I. The reason that we are doing this is two fold.
One, we have family all over the country and the world, ranging from when we live in NC, to Chicago, San Fransisco, out to London and on to Latvia. As you can imagine it is hard to just place a phone call over to Latvia that won't cost an arm and a leg. We all have Skype, but tring to find a time when everyone is awake is hard due to the time differ…

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING
A message every adult should read because children
are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you hang my
first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately
wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a
stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind
to animals.
When you thought I wasn't lo…

There used to be the belief that if one stays away from "bad" websites, then malware is not a problem. That is not true, as a recent example with the New York Times illustrated. The popular news website was compromised, and the trusted site was serving up malicious ads:
The malicious ad took over the browsers of many people visiting the site, as their screens filled with an image that seemed to show a scan for computer viruses. The visitors were then told that they needed to buy antivirus s…

Well hello everyone me Aramis Perez,
First off I would like to apologize for my eight month absence. A lot of things happened and I needed to be there for those I cared about and I needed to cool my head off during the summer, despite the fact I didn't get the chance to go to a pool.
But anyway on to the main point. After doing some research I was able to find a download link to Firefox 3.7 A1-Pre which oddly enough isn't being showcased at the firefox website for some reaso…

Ever heard the phrase, “I don’t suffer from paranoia, I enjoy every minute of it!” and wondered exactly what that means? Then you probably won’t understand this blog. But for the rest of you, please read on.
Anyone else notice the little crumbs that fall off of the bottom of a pizza? It’s not part of the crust, it just sticks to the bottom of the pizza. It always falls off in the box, or on your plate, or sticks to your lips, but a significant amount does make it into your mouth. So, why do we…

If your a good fellow subscriber of Chris and have followed on with recent videos, you will have noticed that the website
whatpulse.org has been mentioned. WhatPulse is a free desktop program that opens a so-called "keyhook" upon Windows startup, which listens to incoming Windows messages about the keyboard, the keyhook sends these messages to the program itself, and the program first determines if the key pressed is a proper key (Every standard keyboa…

It looks as though Microsoft may have conceded defeat in its fight against the European Union’s antitrust charges relating to the bundling of the Internet Explorer Web browser in Windows 7. The EU wasn’t happy with the plans to exclude a browser from the OS completely, so it seems European Windows buyers will now be given a choice via a ballot screen.
The EU has been on Microsoft’s case for a good while now, insisting the company is being anti-competitive in its practices when it comes to bundl…

There has been a lot of "Twitter List bashing" in the past few days and personally I can't bring myself to agree with any of it. Twitter lists are a genius idea to help people like me find quality people to interact with via Twitter.
Here are my THREE reasons why I think they are awesome!
1) I am not going to a…
