With those specs, you could likely successfully run just about any distro.

ubuntu is what i recomend to new linux users or if you comfortable using linux try fedora

Ubuntu should work just fine on a computer with these specs. Debian would work even better, but debian is a lot harder to install. Almost any distro should work fine.
