I just bought some neodymium magnets to play around with for a while to get a feel for the magnetic fields and how they behave.

I want to build a demo version too.
By the time you finish building it, you'll wish you had started building the real thing rather than just the 1 ring version.
If you go through all that trouble, might as well try to make 3 rings.
