AP - One in three breast cancer patients identified in public screening programs may be treated unnecessarily, a new study says. Karsten Jorgensen and Peter Gotzsche of the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Copenhagen analyzed breast cancer trends at least seven years before and after government-run screening programs for breast cancer started in parts of Australia, Britain, Canada, Norway and Sweden.

What kind of geek are you?: Linux Geek

Why do you consider yourself a geek?: I am a multi-talented geek. Jack of all trades master of none.

How did you find out about our Geek community?: From hanging out in the chatroom.

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?: I have several machines My first is and main PC is a single core 2 ghz intel with 1.1 gigs of ram and a 250 gig HD with a 120 gig external and dual booted with Vista and Ubuntu and Xp inside a virtual machine inside of Ubuntu. The second is a 1.5 ghz intel with 512 megs of ram and a 30 gig HD (which I use on my tv to watch media via s-video out) running XP home SP3. My 3rd is a 2 ghz amd with 2 gigs of ram a 40 gig hd (2) 350 gig drives and a 350 gig external and another 120 gig external running Ubuntu with windows inside a virtual box again. (not dual booting this one) and my 4th is an old Gateway Solo notebook running at 700 mhz and 256 megs of ram with a 10 gig hd running Xp pro sp3. I use this one to listen to my online radio throughout the house. The last machine is a Duo Core 2.16 ghz Intel with 4 gigs of ram Two 320 gig HD's running Ubuntu and Windows XP via Virtual Machine.

What do you want to be when you grow up?: Hm? I dont know yet. I should figure it out soon, I'm all grown up already.

What makes you laugh?: I make me laugh

What is the thing in life you treasure most?: Family.

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?: I just recently re-setup my whole home network, with a Smoothwall Firewall box added to the mix. Which brings the PC count to 9.

Other things I have done, include, hosting a shoutcast server, running an online radio station for a short time, hosting and managing an Apache web server and much, much more.

What do you do to entertain yourself?: I work on my website, tinker with my servers, play with my radio station, or build a computer.

Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?: I listen to all types of music, from Rap, to country and everything in between, I watch Lost, Heroes, Smallville and the like, and of course, Chirs. I manage my website and putz around with other things on my computer in my free time to keep myself entertained. I also play in paint ball tournaments and collect world war two memorabilia

So as the days tick by and the months of our lives turn into years we strive to be who we are, that is, we work hard for certain things in life. We work to get into a certain career, we work to get a house and we work for a family.
