Totally agree....
People often wonder how is it I an survive without Windows on my Mac. I just tell them that there are better apps for Mac that I can use to get my work done.
Sad to say, I'd have to agree with this....
Unless Google gets alot of 3rd party software developers to get behind them and they bring out apps that can exceed Microsoft's Office Suite, we're not going see it moving up along the ladder.

Exactly. The casual user is much more likely to put their trust in a brand name like Google as opposed to say an Ubuntu or Fedora. Not to mention the millions upon millions that Google can put behind marketing this OS, where as many of the distro'...
No. I like what Google's doing and can't wait to test drive its new OS. But I doubt it'll be anywhere near as robust or have the functionality of Windows.
This won't kill windows,but I can say this will hurt them.
Google is a very large company and they have the money to advertise.

I see. If Chrome OS is going to be focused around the browser, would there be open source desktop programs, or desktop at all? They may come up with something different from desktop. Who knows? I'm looking forward to seeing what Google developers ...
