What kind of geek are you?
Teaching, movies, tech, anime, books
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
Uk-based teacher
How did you find out about our Geek community?
from Chris Pirillo's Videos
What are your "geeky equipment" specs?
You could say I have an apple for the teacher, lol...I have a 20 inch iMac and access to a macbook along with several older Pcs running both Windows Vsita and xp (pro and home editions. My iMac is linked to a Time Capsule. I also have a variety of peripherals including a sony digital camera.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
Too far away to think about. I'm only 50! :)
What makes you laugh?
old sitcoms
What is the thing in life you treasure most?
my family
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
I guess it would be involving my school in things like blogs and podcasting.
What do you do to entertain yourself?
internet
Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?
My fave book is 'The Power of One' by Bryce Courtney. The book is truly inspiring and tells the tale of a South African boxer who fights both opponents and adversity page by page. If you hate boxing you will still enjoy this book. As for movies, I like so many but I do enjoy old horror movies where the blood is orange. Modern horror movies have beocome too formula-based or outright sick for me.

so less important. Music videos have now been replaced with YouTube bookmarks and many music files have been replaced with radio stations and online music playlist websites giving me a more and varied diet than I had previously with my gor… Continue

Moving towards OSX

About four months ago I purchased my first Apple computer in the form of an iMac running Windows XP Professional via Bootcamp (Windows was needed for a few programmes that were essential for work purposes). I have been really happy with the new operating system (OS10.5 - Leopard) and have only ventured over to the Windows side when it had been absolutely essential.

In order to help me at first I would watch tutorials on YouTube and picked up a great deal of absolute basics quickly and in an ent… Continue
