Well if you ever come down to this neck of the woods before July of this coming year and could stop by. I would be more then welcome to meet you somewhere. In the same city as me. I am actually going to be sort of moving to somewhere near I guess what you would call the midwest ? I am going to be supposedly moving with my family to missouri this coming summer. My dad wants to get out of here as soon as possible. He is a teacher and may be teaching summer school. If he can for the extra money for when we move. I am honestly not sure where astoria is ? But I am going to guess you have to be close to the washington and Oregon border. Cause it is like 2 hrs From Portland to the city that I grew up in. But I am sure your going along the coast rather then through the middle of the state.

Yeah my family would beyond not understand they would look at me and ask me if I was feeling ok. Although also as I said it seems like it would be something awesome to experience as well.

As I said before fate is a powerful thing. And I just happened upon your posting on geeks. Cause it came of interest to me. And well then I figured I would send you a message stating why or what I felt we had in common. There are always people who are not willing to be friends with what one would call the random stranger. I have met some of the coolest people that way. My fiancee being one of them. So I am all for meeting people. Thank you for responding.

Oh yeah also...The people in the midwest are also more friendly then those of california. This is probably the worst state for meeting random people. And even trying to become friends with them. I have lived here for 7 years or more and yeah I don't honestly have what I could call a friend other then my fiancee and some other people that I have met through the internet. Or people that I knew that moved here later.

I just added this comment to your Blog :
This is beyond inspirational this is AWESOME. I am in AWE…Literally this is AWESOME. As you said in here you are currently well traded a Rv for a blazer in portland oregon. I love portland, oregon and that is where I want my home ground to be eventually people are of a whole other type.

I have really good friends in portland oregon. And Seattle for that matter. And one of my friends in Eugene. I think did something very similar to your year around the world. But that was way before this whole you tube and all this sort of tv craze bit on the internet.

I will say that reading this article sort of made me want to travel. But I fear not knowing things so much. That I think that what your doing is very brave. But I think I might have sort of enough friends maybe along the way :) But to leave a job and tell them I am going away and not sure when I am going to return would be very difficult.

I also have a red eared slider turtle which is also named Mertle. Which is actually male. But still Two turtles named Mertle. I believe in fate. And I think fate has put us together. Also your turtle seems to be around the same size as mine almost in that video.

A YEAR AT THE WHEEL panel @ SXSW - Help us win!

After Shane and I finished our A YEAR AT THE WHEEL travels it was suggested that we should be sharing our experiences for the benefit of others. We were referred to the interactive panels of the SXSW Festival, so we signed up to be a part of the 2010 event.
We are thrilled to share our knowledge and experiences with anyone willing to listen, and SXSW will help us reach a wider audience.
If you think people would benefit from our experience please take one quick moment to click the link below, si… Continue

Still trying to win the big HP giveaway... Will you please help?

Hello Fellow Geeks,
Here I am with blog number 2, and I am again begging for votes, but this time with more excitement and a little more frantic. It is the last day for the contest, and we are getting there but really need more comments to win.
So WHY vote for me, well because I spent a year in a truck with a madman, a dog and a turtle to create A YEAR AT THE WHEEL, we did it, as the article says with a lot of struggle and strife, and I think all things considered it turned out pretty damn good… Continue

I entered the Big HP Contest on Chris Pirillo's blog

I have to admit, I joined this geeks community primarily to be eligible to enter the contest to win the computers. I figured it would be another dud inactive group, like so many I have joined over the years, where no one ever posts anything. I am really surpised that it is so active and friendly, thanks to everyone who posted welcomes so quick! I am looking forward to hanging around.

If you want to see the article, here is my entry:
