I agree. People should get as much life out of their technology as possible. The Q6600 is not that old of a processor. Just last year at this time most PCs selling off the shelves that weren't a handful of the quad core's available were Q6600 base...

Ok, first of all, if I make a screencast for YouTube, I set the screen reolution to 1280 x 720 Less data to compress since YouTube like to have the resolution in 1280 x 720 and in MP4 format. I also record HD-material with my digital camera that r...

Overweight and blogging

Hi

I am myself quite overweight and because of that kind of shy.
But I have got myself an "idol" and that person is Ron Knight

He is overweight himself but he does his own thing in his video blogging.
He just talk about everything that he feels like, espesially "The Beast" computer.
He got it from his father and it is a "kickasss" computer.
Ron still likes his iMac from Apple and has it as a main computer.

I envy you Ron for having both a Apple PC and a Windows PC.
It seems that both MAC OS X… Continue

Backing up music CD´s

After the move to a new apartment I was going through the music CD´s that I´ve got.
Some of them gave the CD reader a headake, they started to get old and harder to read.
So now I have started to make backup of them all on my computer.
Not as MP3´s but as image files. I want to keep them as they are, not compressed.

They take some space on the hard drive but it´s worth it to keep them as a original.
If the original CD is lost, breaks and will be unreadable I can just burn it out on a new CD.

Moving to a new apartment, part 1

It´s hard to move "your hole life" in three days.
It can be done if you want to live in a mess of furniture and boxes for a few days.
The second day of moving, most of my stuff is now in my new apartment.
There is still some stuff in my old apartment but not that much.
Soon it´s just some cleaning of the old apartment left.
I don´t have a video yet but I put some pictures on my own site.
I hope you can access them.

Last night in my old apartment

Tomorrow I will move to a smaller apartment.
Most of my stuff is now in different boxes, even my main computer, the desktop.
The only tech-stuff I got right now is my internet, router, laptop and the 24" monitor.
The only network cabel is the one between the internet outlet and the router.
I´m running wireless between the router and the laptop (802.11n, 300 Mbit).

I have only seen the new apartment once and that was three months ago.
It´s quite nice. One bedroom, livingroom, kitchen, toilet and… Continue
