You'd need some sort of video recorder, if you were dual booting with windows it would be a lot easier to find a usb product that would work, however if your only using snow leopard then its a pain in the butt if you don't just want to record it wit…

after doing some research it seems as if that asc.sys file is actually a scsi storage driver. What I would try to do first is to copy the whole cd onto the hard drive and try to do the upgrade through there, if that doesn't work, its best to just st…

Depends on which way you swing. AMD dual cores are about half the cost of intel's right now, hell i picked up my quad core amd for under 100 bucks on newegg a month ago. I use it for virtualization, but a dual in many instances work just as well.

While I don't know exactly what the warranty contains, I kind of have to agree with dan. The warranty in most cases is presented for the product being as is with no modification. If you modify it, theres no reason for them to not have the right to v…

I think it depends on use......for example my grandfather just now recently updated to an xp machine......he had been running windows 95 for the last 10 YEARS....and used it almost everyday to do his bookkeeping, taxes, etc. It was an old Packard Be…

For me I've always had the customer pick either AMD or intel, and when they ask what the difference is, I generally say that you'll get another year before you need to upgrade with an intel, which in my experiences over the years has pretty much hel…

Yeah, overpriced. I just sold my rig WITH a 22" lcd for $450 american a couple months ago, and it basically had the same specs, almost to a T actually except mine was amd, same vid card.

why don't you just log into the router and look for it there?

the question is......why?...I mean I get if if your using 3 displays for a workstation, but I don't see any practical use for it from a laptop external display out.

while I didn't personally own it, I inherited an old vic20 and a TI99 from my dad when my grandpa was cleaning out his garage a few years ago. Both of them powered on and loaded the tapes just fine, nothing like some good old vintage 70's basic to l…

Its in sleep mode during the day while I'm at the day job, but at night when I'm doing my coding its obviously on for the majority. My lcd's on the other hand are shut completely off when I leave the room for an extended period of time. My 25" lcd a…

My major in college was programming, however I dabelled in just about everything else and found that I like the graphic and web design field more. So I program web apps now, which in reality is the best of both worlds as you don't have to worry for…

While I don't think you'll hit the 750 watt mark with the tower as configured, you wouldn't really have any headroom either. A 1000 watt would be fine, but you could save a little money by going with an 8 or 900 watt. I've still yet to find a system…

my new palm pre...

So after having my windows mobile pda for the last 3 and a half years, I finally decided to take the plunge and upgrade my phone. I looked at my options as I am a sprint user, and realized that A windows mobile phone just wasn't for me anymore as they had become even more bloated than what my ppc6700 was. So, I went with the palm pre. I was a little worried about the keyboard at first as my ppc had a full size (for a phone anyway) slide out keyboard, it was a dream to text on. The pre has a quer… Continue

My new netbook...

So by the stroke of luck I happened to come upon an acer aspire one the other day that was just too good of a deal to pass up. My old hp laptop was seriously in need of replacement but I didn't use it enough for me to warrant spending the cash on a new laptop. The thought of a netbook had crossed my mind a few times before this, but didn't wanna take the plunge and then regretting it because of the limitations. But, I think i found the common ground. My acer has the atom cpu, 1gb of ram, 160gb h… Continue

My "new" impressions of WIN 7

So.....after the debacle of x64 and wireless drivers (check out my last post), I installed the x86 version of the RC tonight. The first thing I can say is that boot and shut down times have increased dramatically. My vista partition takes a good 20-25 seconds to get from the loading screen to the welcome screen, with win 7 its now a cool 10 seconds at most. Another thing I like about Win 7 is the subtle changes to the taskbar, more specifically if you use Media player for your media library. Its… Continue

Ubuntu....its a love hate thing...

I've been using Linux off and on for a few years now...I'll use it for a few months....take it off.........put it back on when there's a major release....etc. I've leaned pretty much towards Ubuntu because of the user base, but I gotta tell ya....I'm exhausted from having to deal with some things tonight. Granted wireless problems are mostly driver issues, but sometimes its just not gonna happen.

My case in point. I built my new rig about 4 months ago. Vista has used my wireless card fine the e… Continue

Nice set up you got there. How much did those v8 coolers run you? I am going to try and build a AMD rig with a dual or quad. I figure if I go with the quad it would be more beneficial to be able to run more programs in the background while gaming and no lag.
