Also if you want your game rig to last, using your old computer for everyday things like internet, school, exe. will help reduce any failiure from running your new rig for too long. Like: overheating from too much dust, fan bearing failure, hard disk scraching, shorts from extended use, and power consumption. I had my first computer for everyday tasks while my new one held games and special media. Here is my old one. It's cheap, reliable, and sits on a plastic roller cart.
I know what u can do with your xbox, If you plugg it into your computer using a ethernet cable and if u have windows media player 11 you can use your xbox for a media server. But in the xbox u have to enable file sharing and in media player make sure it reads the xbox's signal otherwise the files won't transfer. With the old pc you have u can ether turn that into any server you want, a super firewall, portable gaming rig (lan parties), or use it for all your daily tasks and just leave your new rig up to gaming.

Also, at the top of the screen if you put your mouse over the word Home then a Pulldown will expand. You can then click on Top 100 to see who the top level people are on this site who have the most points.
