You have to realize that this is our nations capitol and we have our government local state and federal, plus our military mainly federal contract consulting firms. i would like to move to Cali. or visit but money time life is holding me back right now. You reap what you sow, long story. Thats awesome you have some IT on your experience section in your resume. What I can say even though I don't have my cert is study with simulators or with at least one router and switch (buy on ebay) and take the test once to know whats in the test. Me I have been going through stuff around here for three years since 2006 I have been unemployed every year so had to watch my money until I received employment. Dude its been tough but I also imagine how I would feel if I never finished my A.A.S.
Thats odd you need clearence, I live in California and I havn't heard anything about that. I have a friend who works for Cisco, I'm not an expert on routers though. I know how tough it is to get a job, I had IT jobs before, then was unemployed for awhile then worked in a UPS factory loading boxes onto trucks, then finalllyyy was able to get an IT job again for Robert Half Technology. I still want to get some certs too though but I'm not sure in what yet.
