I have a 250GB cap with Comcast, I have never exceeded this limit though so I don't know what happens if I do.

Yeah...make sure you have the RAM for it I do the same thing and if I am gaming and going on the web I usally use around 5.5GB of RAM.
I am sure there is a setting where you can set it to do that, check the game settings, I can do that w/ Crysis.

All depends of the game.
Have games that whant own exclusive process, not alow any other think work, and some ones close if you take it out of screen.
