No not officially, it has no tessellation hardware on die. (That's the main difference.)
My GA-MA790X-UD4P m/b supports both AM3, AM2+, AM2 My processor is the AMD Phoenom 9850 Quad Core 2.5Ghz. The motherboard can be had in Tiger Direct for less than $100 I believe. Pictures of my "rig" are in my profile.

No... i will be using atleast 4GB of DDR3 RAM i will be overclocking it to 2000MHz (For gaming)

AM3 = DDR3
AM2+ = DDR2
Check the cache memory on AM3 chips, and as for MB's the majority of AM3 boards are set to use DDR3 memory
Sure but what is the difrence betwen AM2+ and AM3 i know it's the socket but is there anything else?
for amd chips always go for the black edition as their are designed for overclocking

oh and i will be overclocking alot! and playing hardcore games like Crysis and GTA IV...
Dude go With the intel core I7 there is rumors that the I5 Socket is crap...Oh and go for a HD 5870 not a GTX 260 the new 5000 series support DX11 or just wait thil march when the GT 300 Series comes out! :D
