What kind of geek are you?

Programmer Analyst

Why do you consider yourself a geek?

See above. I even have a Master's in CS.

How did you find out about our Geek community?

Surfing.

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?

Windows PCs, preferably Vista or XP, but have been known to program in Unix as well, and I try to help my ex-wife and daughter with their Macs.

I'm looking for an IT job in New Mexico, right now. Will program elsewhere though.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I am way too grown up.

What makes you laugh?

Human absurdity, esp. uproars over things that don't really matter.

What is the thing in life you treasure most?

Kids, grandkids, the outdoors.

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?

Science Seminar in high school, then getting a chemical engineering bachelor's degree and (20 years later) a Masters in CS.

What do you do to entertain yourself?

Hiking, caving, reading, Web surfing.

Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?

Various SF and Fantasy movies, with some old flicks added in. Recently watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, Stardust, Star Trek TNG. Lord of the Rings trilogy. Books: LOTR and Robert Jordan, but am also reading Pratchett and Fred Saberhagen too.
