problem charging my laptop

Hey guys i need some help over here.
Turns out i have my laptop, a dell inspiron 1520, and sudenly stopped charging, when i connect it to the electricity i have an error message saying that i need to get an original charger, now here's the deal it charges sometimes and sometimes dont, i dont know what to do, i've beensearching in forums and seems like the solution is aplying an update to the bios, so im gonna do it right now, in about half hour i'll tell you how did it go.

well, I get seasonal depression and I"ve had a lot of bad news come my way lately, so things just got a bit beyond my ability to deal with. But I don't get depression where I"m sad and suicidal or anything like that, I get lethargic and completely lacking in motivation to get anything done. So nohing serious, just something that makes it hard for me to do anything worthwhile and then I beat myself up over it.
