What kind of geek are you?

The kind obsessed with games, technology, and good food.

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?

Primary PC, all custom-built:

-Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 (with a Sunbeamtech Core-Contact Freezer and Tuniq TX-2 keeping it nice and cool)
-2*1 GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-667
-Galaxy GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB (non-reference card; it has a spiral-esque heatpipe HSF for the GPU and requires two 6-pin PCIe plugs)
-Auzentech X-Fi Prelude
-Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P Rev. 2.0
-Western Digital WD5000AAKS
-PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610
-Windows Vista Ultimate x64 OEM (No, I'm not replacing it with XP.)
-Rosewill R6AR6-BK (Brand name aside, this is actually quite a nice case to work with for the price. It does need more airflow, though, as temperatures will rise significantly with the side panel on. I'm going to mod that side panel to hold a couple of 120mm fan intakes sooner or later.)

Peripherals used with that PC:

-Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar with FCC force-sensing stick mod

Other gadgets:

-HP iPAQ hx4700 (running a cooked PhamQuang WM6.1 ROM, the exact version of which I am unsure; it serves as my main media player with TCPMP, an Internet tablet with Opera Mobile 9.5, a picture/animated .GIF viewer with either XnView Pocket or Resco Photo Viewer, a VoIP phone with Skype, and all the other things that WM devices can do!)
-Sony PSP-2000 (TA-085 v1 motherboard, 4.01 M33-2; I mostly use it as a portable emulation station, though I do use it on occasion as a music player and Skype device.)
-Nintendo DS (It's the old model, not the Lite.)
-Nintendo Wii (Nothing much to say here-it's a Wii. About the only non-standard thing I've done to it at the moment is having installed a homebrew channel, but that could change as I improve my understanding of how homebrew works on it.)
-Microsoft Xbox 1.6 (This one isn't softmodded...yet. I personally hate it because it won't display Panzer Dragoon Orta in 480p properly, but it was the first and only one I had for quite a while.)
-Microsoft Xbox 1.1 (I got this one in exchange for pre-ordering a second copy of Crysis Special Edition for a friend. I like it much better since it doesn't have the 480p display problem mentioned above, but this one has a flaw of its own-it tends to shut off randomly, and needs to be dropped from an inch above the floor to get it working again. I think there's something wrong with the power supply. Anyway, it's softmodded with Ndure and runs XBMC as a dashboard, and has become quite a nice little media center and emulation station as a result.)
-Nintendo 64 (I still keep mine around, though I rarely use it.)
-Sony PSone (I use this even less than I do the N64, especially when my PSP can play any game made for it that doesn't require a Dual Shock.)
-Super Nintendo (I plucked one of these from a garage sale with a gamepad and a bunch of games for only five US$! It hasn't showed any serious yellowing, either. The catch is that it didn't come with an AC adapter, which won't be too troublesome to replace whenever I get around to it.)

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to run my own game development studio and electronics corporation. It's very unlikely that I'll ever get to do either, but you never know.

What makes you laugh?

All kinds of things make me laugh, but the biggest example I can think of is people playing frustrating games and venting verbally when something goes wrong.

What is the thing in life you treasure most?

Probably my own life, since it's the reason why I'm here.

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?

I don't think I've done anything particularly geeky, but I keep imagining someone not too unlike myself who, when attacked, beats his assailants with a Model M. He eventually has to fight other people wielding Logitech G15s, Northgate OmniKey Ultras, Apple Extended Keyboards, various Cherry keyboards, Das Keyboards, and eventually, one particular person who wields the legendary Optimus Maximus (and it isn't Chris Pirillo). Seriously, can you get any geekier than whacking someone with a keyboard?

There is another card game that I have been working on for some time that I call Thralls. I got that name from UQM (the Ur-Quan battle thralls). My screen name on some sites used to be Master of Thralls, and I had an animated Ur-Quan .gif as my avatar.
