I use Avira as well in combination with AVG and Avast. you can also try kaspersky. avast is really good but it tends to slow down your computer's performance.
i've had good luck with both, at home i use avg on one pc and avast on another, and both have done great jobs, the worst thing you can do is waste money on something like norton, over priced crapware
I have worked on too many computers running Avast that had infections it didn't prevent and couldn't handle, so I no longer rec it. AVG's email facility is irksome, but the rest of the program is Okay as far as an AV.

As much as I have like avg, AND THE FACT it's free, it's update process is simply a nuisance and seems constant. I think all of these Anti virus programs need to stand back and take a long look at themselves. I don't need something in my face daily…
