iKnow many people do this but iDon't get why they do. It seems weird that companies put an "i" in front of their product's name to try and make it instantly popular. iDo not do this and iThink it's kind of dumb.

Start with C, C#, C++, Java, OpenGL and MatLab. The last two are more geared towards coding for games. As CK13 said, start with general coding as that's what lies at the foundation of all game development anyway.

i think your probably better off starting out with basic software development and coding, as only learning game design will limit you from other options down the road (besides, nothing wrong with knowing the basics before developing a specific field…
