Acer, at TigerDirect. I had my hands on these, very nice. The demand of these lately has forced the price up, there were at $239 not long ago. The RAM is upgradeable to 2 GB an they run Windows XP. Wireless built in.

It all depends on what you're looking for in a netbook. But if you like to try out different operating systems and then the best one for that is Asus Eee 1000HE. It is what maximum PC prefers the best in its operating system tests.

Vhf/Uhf I use my Pro 164, I do have a yaesu dual band (forgot the model #). I haven't done any nets in a couple of years but I do want to keep the license and help out with storm nets and similar. For HF, I do use the Radio Shack DX 390, a communications receiver, or the Icom R3(it can p/u Shortwave).
I live on the east coast so I don't do anything near the west .
