I would say Ubuntu Server, because i dont like RedHat too much.

Other way around my friend. Ubuntu is based on Debain :p.

For server use I would suggest neither. I would instead get Debain Stable . Or even Freebsd for a server.

oki was fine until i got to the cd command after that it wouldnt work.... i downloaded codeweavers for games on linux to finish the rest of the install for me and it is installing fine am at 64% right now so hopefully it will work !!

Debian. It's basically ubuntu, only a bit more stable. Oh, and it requires less resources for itself.

Upgrading RAM, any tips?

Hey folks! I have an old computer that I salvaged recently, I installed Ubuntu Linux on it. I have been using it for a few weeks (maybe months? Not entirely sure) and I decided that I want to upgrade the RAM.

How to install Frets On Fire - Ubuntu Linux

If you don't know what Frets on Fire is check out my linux games thread.

Installing this game is pretty simple. If you go to there website (dont) you will need to download and install other packages... If you use the terminal it downloads all of them.


Load up your terminal (console) and type

"sudo apt-get install frets on fire"

then put in your password then just do the onscreen instructions.

And thats frets on fire installed ;-)
