Well, this has been a helluva week. First, my wife and kid have been out of town all week, so I got to have a very restful holiday weekend. Sat around, played some games, watched some TV, nothing big, just rest.

Monday, of course, was a holiday, so I got the day off work, which is a mixed blessing when you're a contractor. If you want to get paid, you have to work, so I had decided to put in 10+ hour days over the next four days to make up for it. Which meant that on Tuesday I was still in the… Continue

What kind of geek are you?: An out of work PHP geek...Computer, Web, Astronomy, Politics, Anime, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Gaming...what kind of geek am I not?

Why do you consider yourself a geek?: Did you not see the giganormous list of geek types I fall into?

How did you find out about our Geek community?: Been watching the podcast of Chris for sometime now.

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?: Computer - AMD 64X2 5000+ processor with 2GB of RAM, 160GB hard disk(s), 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT video card(built the PC myself) , running Windows XP Professional.

Web - Use Notepad++ for PERL, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript development, Visual Web Studio for ASP.net development, and primarily use Chrome to do my browsing.

Astronomy - 3.5" Maksutov telescope that I what to start using for astrophotography, and a pair of Orion Venture binoculars that I do most of my observing through. Next on the list it an 8 = 10" Dob.

Gaming - PC (see specs above), PS2 and GBA, several d4's, d6's, d8's, d10's, d12's and d20's, and numerous boardgames

What do you want to be when you grow up?: I'm a web developer...for now...Mwa hahahaha

What makes you laugh?: Apparently, what I want to be when I grow up.

What is the thing in life you treasure most?: My wife and my daughter.

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?: Every day at Dragon*Con, I sleep two hours a day (9am -11am), do all kinds of geekish stuff, and then I stay up all night playing "Are You a Werewolf".

At the 2007, we play (multiple times, obviously), for about 24 hours straight on the last night/day.

What do you do to entertain yourself?: Read, watch anime, cartoons and sci-fi, build model airplanes, crash RC airplanes, play games of the video, board or role play variety.

Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?: Music: Love rock music, Pink Floyd and Rush are on the top.
Movies: Sci-Fi and comedies. Serenity and anything Pixar.
Books: Sci-Fi, fantasy, history, military history, humor. Favorites are The Silmarillion, Calvin and Hobbes, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Bad Astronomy.
Shows: Same as movies. Venture Brothers, Firefly, NCIS, House, Dogfights, Boondocks.

My favorite has always been Evangelion. I still enjoy it. Personally, I find myself watching dubbed more than subs, mainly just because I'm too lazy to read while I watch, although I actually do prefer subbed.
