We lie, because we are usually in a situation when it is not safe to tell the truth! =)

The name does kinda says it all since it is a community of people who recognize something geeky about themselves. Most of us are computer or technology geeks, many of us are also science geeks. It is a community of people who recognize that it is cool to be smart and techy. It is cool to want to learn and even cool to enjoy science fiction and fantasy movies or books. Basically, we are very diverse group of people from all walks of life. Some are Nerds all the way around, others have been the cool kids, but with that hidden nerdy side. I myself am a martial arts instructor who was in the Marines at one point and the Army another, but have always been fascinated by computers and technology and have been a Star Wars Geek my whole life. There are different groups you can join and share a common geeky interest. Many of us share information and help each other with various technical issues.
I have read your profile and have to say that somebody who loves to write and hopes to master the inner workings of the human mind (the most advanced computer) to help others is somebody who would fit in perfectly.
