Averatec D1005. Cool, or lawsuit waiting to happen? You decide!

Averatec already has a few offerings on the market when it comes to all-in-one pcs. The D1005 slips in neatly between the 25 and a half and 18 inch models. It's nothing to write home about spec wise, but at $799, it sits neatly in the 'college workstation and publi… Continue

Yet Another Tablet Post

So, after I reported on rumours yesterday, this little bundle of love comes to my attention. The Gigabyte T1028 is a netbook with reversible form factor, coming in at about the specs I want at the price I want. I'm definitely dropping its name in the hat for when I make a decision. I likely won't until october, but it will be really cool to see what shapes up.

Apple Tablet, Part Deux

So, in continuation to my search for a yummy piece of tablet-ey sexiness, the latest rumour, published by a news source out of taiwan, is that Apple is going to ship a 9.7" touch screen netbook/tablet as early as October. Rumours have it set at $800, and it will include touch screen capabilities.

EVGA Announces new GTX 285 Mac Edition Drivers, link mysteriously broken minutes later.

I'm smelling cease and desist action from apple on this one. Apple has had a lockdown on drivers for years now, and I kind of eyebrowed when I heard EVGA claim they were releasing a mac driver, and placed it for download in their site.

Well, needless to say, it's a few hours later an without explanation, no drivers in site. I think maybe EVGA learned why there are no other cats in america, so to speak:

Opinion Piece: Apple Netbook Tablet

The Problem

So, there has been a lot of talk recently about apple's entry into the netbook market. They're a bit wishy washy on whether or not they actually will, but one of the more exciting rumours is that they'd be making a tablet. Now, I'm not usually an enormous fan of apple's hardware, but in this case, I will make an exception. If there is one thing I know apple can make well, it would be this… Continue

Pricepoint is nice- but I've always felt the "all-in-ones" were like a laptop-desktop...one bit goes south and you lose the whole shebang. I'll stick with a separate tower and monitor, thanks...Or (for reasons that escape me) my preference for ha...

I'd love to test drive one of these. While I'm not too sure how 9.7 (.4-.5 smaller than other netbooks) is much of a selling feature- having a touch screen will place it in it's own niche. It's obvious that many people appreciate the touchscreen i...

I seriously doubt apple or any other SOFTWARE company can copyright a form factor, hell looking in PC magazine shows the same basic all in ones from 3 other companies.

Just wondering, would be an expensive joke if those were destroyed by stray current :P.

I took a look at the photo's, very nice equipment you have there.
But isn't it a bit irresponsible to put it on a table?
Because of the stray current i mean, it could damage the contacts and eventually ruin your very nice GTX 295's.
Very nice specs though.

Thanks for the comment...except I have no idea what you're talking about! If this was in response to a discussion you could have at least posted it there so I understand the flow of argument. Care to tell me what this is in response to?
