The fact that I have not been able to afford the subscription renewal for my McAfee Security Suite is a good thing.

Today I spent most of the day outside, helping my brother with a massive swingset for his kids. It was great to be out in the fresh air working on a "light" construction project. Of course it's not completed yet (it's roughly one-third finished), and since my brother works 2 weeks straight starting tomorrow, I'll be working on it as I can. I held out for quite a while, but I finally bit the bullet and joined Twitter. The only reason I didn't jump in for so long is I wasn't sure how interested people would be in what I was doing at a given time. Of course, this line of thinking totally ignores the fact that, on Twitter, people decide to follow you or not. You decide whether to follow them or not. Geeks in their late 30's or early 40's might remember this video from elementary school in the mid-to late 1970's. It's called "Telezonia," and was produced by AT&T (which some of us remember as "Ma Bell," "The Bell System," or just "The Phone Company").
