Alright, but what I want to know is: if it's Apple's OS, why don't they have the right to specify what hardware they'll let it run on? I don't see how you can call them anti-competitive since if you have Intel-compatible hardware, you have lots of O…
(@Chris Galin: Macs don't suck. PowerPC chips didn't make Macs suck, either. I have a Performa 6400/200 with OS 8.6 on it that still runs 13 yrs. later and can surf the Net on my LAN (I got a 10/100 card for it years ago) just as fast as any of my P…
Not sure... there are "kinds"? Is that like breeds or species?
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
How so? Because I said so.
How did you find out about our Geek community?
Keoni invited me to join...
What are your "geeky equipment" specs?
Lord.. which one? The old Macs I haven't recycled yet (Color Classic, Performa 6360, Performa 6400 / 200); my work laptop (HP 8710w); my cell (BB 8830); my home workstation (2GB Corsair, AMD Ath.X2 5000, 8600 GT w/ 512 Mb, 2 320Gb WD HDs, LITE-ON DVDRW, generic card reader, floppy drive (so I don't have to hunt one down if I need to), Acer 22" monitor...

Rich!

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
You don't need to know... that's so I don't have to make you, well, you know....
What do you do to entertain yourself?

Well... I bought GTA-IV for the PC the other day thinking to use my DVI-to-HDMI cable for the first time; that why I asked you how you were running yours. THEN I found out that Rockstar is using Sony's SecurROM DRM to protect the game. So now my dilemma is whether to use my one AMD 8450 X3 chip to build a machine just to play GTA on; I don't want Sony's rootkit DRM screwing up my regular game PC.
Hey John- good to hear from u man. Very astute observations u have there. I am using a dvi to hdmi cable for the 27" and it does a pretty decent job at keeping things looking good. I can run it at either 1360x768 or 1920x1080. Crysis Warhead, Fallout 3, and Far Cry 2 look amazing. I am going to load up Lord of the Rings Online tonite and have a go at that since i am running DX10 hardware and i heard this game had amazing visuals. ttyL8tr man. peace and positive energy.
