I try not to confine my geekiness to one or two areas
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
I don't consider myself one. I am one. That is a certainty, and not up to me.
How did you find out about our Geek community?
Twitter
What are your "geeky equipment" specs?
I know what magnetic core memory is. In fact, I have some. I had my first portable briefcase computer in 1977. My dad worked on tube computers and built an interface between a Macintosh and a Linotype typecasting machine. I have actual patents, you know, those 14-page, $1M documents with illustrations that look like they were drawn by Rube Goldberg? I have a fully functional Newton. I could go on.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I’d like to be the Mayor of Simpleton or the Duke of Earl, but not the King of Wishful Thinking
What makes you laugh?
Failblog. Kids in the Hall. People who say “best practices.”
What is the thing in life you treasure most?
My daughter.
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
In high school, I taped a microphone to the front of a record player playing a Bozo manners record and threw it out of a second story window to get a recording of what it would sound like when it hit the ground.
