Atari 800xl with 410 datasette. It had the infamous "rev B" Basic bug.. I didn't get a floppy drive for nearly a year. Yes, I'm that old...

This very fact (keyboard quality/size) is why I chose a Mini over an Asus. Nothing against the guts of the Asus, but they simply need to get a better, rather larger, keyboard. :)

I smell someone who got a PC for his birthday instead of a Mac. 10 "facts" that are about as accurate as the "Get the Facts" campaigns launched by Redmond itself. But hey, why am I feeding the trolls?

2GHz G4? Really? Even the 1.25GHz G4's had bigger drives... Tell me another funny story. And btw, OSX is very stable. Has been for YEARS, but since you're using a "Mac" from fantasy land, I guess you wouldn't know that. :)

Well, true geeks can appreciate the irony of Windows. :)

You figured out that a Mac wasn't for "power users" in an hour? Did you SEE the command line? I run macports, and it's easy as pie to get my favorite linux software on my mac. Built in X server... wait, windows has one of those? Nope. And the anem...

Two. a 10GB 2nd gen iPod (that still works and is used daily, which makes me angry about the death of FW) and a 30GB iPod Video. (Which doubles as a mobile movie watcher.) When I need a new battery for my 10GB, I might convert it to an 8GB solid ...

152 cycles, 66% health. It's a Rev A MBPro (Core Duo). It's mostly a desktop now, and every now and again I run it on battery. It's 33 months old, btw. Not bad, I think. (And I still get 2.5 to 3 hours on the battery at normal use....)

Completed Rise of the Argonauts (PS3)

Well, after many nights of wandering, talking, and getting a thumb cramp from killing so many enemies, I've finally finished "Rise of the Argonauts". It was worth the time and effort, and aside from a few technical glitches (I'd assume it is the rather raw Unreal Engine on the PS3... of course I have read reviews that say the glitches I saw in the PS3 version are the same on the 360.)

The game is a half action half dialogue driven RPG. The concept of the story is a familiar one to anyone who's… Continue

Rise of the Argonauts

So, I decided to hold off on Fallout 3 (again), and picked up in trade with a coworker the rather interesting, if flawed, "Rise of the Argonauts" on PS3. I've finished most of the initial item quests and am off to see the Oracle at Delphi. As the game progresses, you get various types and magically infused weaponry and armor, both from conquest spoils and story elements. It's up to you if you want to receive certain items based on the dialogue tree in the interactive portion of the game. Thus fa… Continue

Finished Mass Effect

Well, I finished Mass Effect this evening (about 8:45pm CST), and I have to say it was a VERY compelling story. It's well worth a playthrough if you even have a passing interest in Sci-Fi. I've always thought the RPG genre builds up to a fantastic letdown where you get played off with music, a stupid "congratulations" and a continue (with no clear goal), or a teaser for the next game in the series (that may or may not appear.) I've not spent much time with JRPGs, spending more time with Western… Continue

Mass Effect Used: $14.99

Well, I decided to try Mass Effect, and the price couldn't be beat. (I at least got a copy that wasn't run through a shredder). So far, I've not left the Citadel yet, but I'm having fun with the various side quests that mostly involve delivering message A to person B. You'd think that the usual fed-ex quests would be boring, but Mass Effect somehow pulls off enough intrigue and suspense that it doesn't _seem_ like you're simply doing the old-fashioned "a to b" cliches.

The only issue I have so… Continue
