"Get", Travis? It's a quick shot of me meeting Jeff Somers. But if you want to "get" more of a taste of NY Comic Con, check out some related videos at the bottom of the screen at the end of this one. Hopefully there will be more for you to "get." ...

Fear And Loathing At The New York Comic Con, or, Bring On The Nubiles

Report From The Con, Feb 6-9, 2009

Oh, sure there's plenty of hypey stuff at the show. Big Grand Theft Auto display featuring hostile, pissed-off-at-the-world toughs in the over-the-top graphics. The Marvel booth also displays its kinetic and multi-angled art in intimidating steroidal size. Various horror publishers send zombies out onto the floor to make sure you know about their undead wares. But thinking back to the days of the pulps, when artists like Edd Cartier -- Scientology founder L. R… Continue

Twittering The Miracle On The Hudson

Janis Krums was on a ferry in the Hudson River when a jet landed on that New York City waterway. As the captain steered his boat to the floating plane, that soon had passengers standing on its wings and getting in lifeboats, Krums snapped a picture with his iPhone and twittered what was happening.

"There's a plane in the Hudson. I'm on the ferry going to pick up the people. Crazy," Janis twittered his way into history on Jan. 15 at 3:36 PM.

Pirillo's Mactalk On YouTube

He mentions the Windows Ecosystem, I prefer Pirillo's own Geekosystem.

It's interesting to come to a new community from an old one. Once a Windows geek, he is now a Mac geek. I myself went from one writer's community to another and it seems that dissatisfaction with the first can make the second one even nicer. Chris seems enthusiastic about Apple.

Paraphrased Twain with the rumors of Macworld's death have been greatly exaggerated. (I hope they are literate enough to get that. Without the know… Continue

...no problem...
...as for indy...
...i think people get upset for a few reasons...
...it doesnt meet their expectations...
...or its "changed" cause of cgi...
...or the conventional wisdom about sequels...
...that are never as good as the originals...
...but people used to say temple of doom sucked...
...and that its nowhere as good as raiders...
...now they say crystal skull sucks...
...and its not as good as something like temple of doom!...
...if people dont like crystal skull...
...i dont think they get what indy is about anyway...

It would help if people listened to what we had to say instead of looking at us as if we had two heads. That's what I've been getting around here. Sure wish I had my husband's ways. When he spoke, people sat up and listened. At one church we used to go to, the pastor would go to Tony for advice!

I agree, J.D., we do have to stick together. We boomers are the only ones who understand each other. I realize that the more I talk with my granddaughters. My 12 year old g/d thinks I don't see her rolling her eyes at stuff I say. LOL!
