Just downloaded windows7 beta from the microsoft site and downloaded Virtualbox . Installed virtualbox and mounted the w7 iso install took about 20mins, with ram set to 1GB.

So far after downloading updates and downloading firefox the HD is about 5.6GB in size, but large for a blank os but eh, HDD's are cheap now.
