Profile Information

What kind of geek are you?
A geeky geekette. What kind of question is this? I'm an all around geek. If there is anything to geek over, I geek over it.
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
Why? Because my first computer was a Commodore 64 and I taught myself Basic when I was like 10. Downhill ever since. What's not geeky about that??
How did you find out about our Geek community?
Chris Pirillo himself. I'm Jamie{JCLeftie} on Wyldryde - look for me! (I was JCgeekGirl)
What are your "geeky equipment" specs?
Windows PCs, two XP and a Vista. Work/development only, no gaming
Xbox360, PS2, NGC, NDS
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I can't imagine being any more grown up than I already am
What makes you laugh?
I'm pretty easy going, lots of things make me laugh. Especially NOOBS
What is the thing in life you treasure most?
my children
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
I do geeky things every day, you'd have to ask my family or co-workers this question. My mom doesn't understand 3/4 of what I say, somehow everything that comes out of my mouth is "Geek" to her
What do you do to entertain yourself?
My kids entertain me for the most part, but the computer and the TV do too. Trying to remember how to read a book, I never have much time for that kind of thing.
Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?
I'm a workaholic. I do what I can, give me a break! I watch movies only when they are out on DVD and most of them have to be things my kids can watch. Only once in a while I'll rent/buy something only grownups would like.

I'm Featured, Now What?

Wow, I'm a featured Geek! Now what do I do with it?

This is your time to shine, and to attract attention to yourself. Go comment on blog posts and profiles. Add videos and photos. This is the best time to be seen, so make it count!

Try adding some new friends. If you hang out in #Chris, chances are you'll notice a lot of people here. If you don't hang out in the chat room, you might want to consider it. People are helpful, friendly, and very easy to have fun with.

Happy Blogging!

Christmas Conundrum: Gifts For the Kids

My ex and I are in an argument over what he should give the boys for Christmas. He believes that he should give them a Wii, and I say they need their own computer (so they can stop wrecking mine!). I could build them an upper-class paperweight for under $200 (they don't need it to play games - that is what they have the 360 and the PS2 for). Wii consoles are selling out everywhere... again. They are hard to find, and he'd have to ship it. Today is the busiest mailing day of the year and we all k… Continue

"Relevant" Social Networking - Gnomepal vs Ning

I've been doing a little bit of checking up on this thing called Ning. Pretty interesting, and not at all what I expected for a social networking platform. I like the ability to personalize without effort, but I have to admit I'm saddened by the lack of major social network support (twitter, friendfeed, identi.ca?). It does have a facebook application, but honestly I don't feel that's even slightly the same thing.

Remember Gnomepal? The videos and the blog… Continue
