Things to do with your old USB drives

I use mine to hold media; things like FLACs, MP3s, MKVs, JPGs and PNGs. I also have one to carry around and one for school projects. I used to boot some small Linux distros from them if I didn't like…

The Internet is for PORN ?!?!?

The "the internet is for porn" thing started as a joke aimed at boards such as 4chan which, although they did not start as porn sites, turned into porn sites over time. It is now becoming partially t…

The Death of the CD/DVD?

I doubt that DVDs will die out entirely until inexpensive large HDDs, inexpensive capless connections or high-quality streaming comes along. YouTube have HD, but it's nowhere near to the quality of a…

Firefox is by far my favourite browser. Opera is too slow, Chrome is too basic, and Internet Explorer, in all of its iterations, is just horrible. Phil Friel, that may be an add-on conflict. Try to visit eBay when running Firefox in safe mode. ACe,…

I wouldn't say that those were inappropriate at all. Some children's sites allow skimpier and more sexualized clothing than that. Although I'm not one to oppose the staff, my opinion is my opinion.

One certainly-not-very-sexy geek girl, reporting in. My face might not look too bad, until you see the edges left from the bad editing that I didn't notice until after I deleted the .xcf.

I'm going to make some layout graphics for this profile.

Although I don't know very much about American stores, I do know that Best Buy have quite good prices.

Profile Information

What kind of geek are you?
A generally geeky geek.
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
I spend 62.4% of my waking hours playing with some electronic thing or other, and I actually calculated that.
How did you find out about our Geek community?
I can't quite remember, but I think that it involved Google.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A computer programmer, although my current amateurish "add-two-and-two" and "turn-the-taskbar-green" efforts are too bad even to show.
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
Dressed as Lain Iwakura for a high-school Halloween dance. To be more accurate, I almost did. My mother saw me, asked me what I was going as, thought that it was stupid and made me stay at home instead.

Holly, the original purchase, was just under $400 including shipping, that included a rinky dink case, 400 watt PSU, LG 22X DVD/CD writer, E8400 CPU with stock fan/heatsink, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB nice quiet hard drive, ASrock MoBo, basically all ready to go when I got it. Then I transferred all the parts to the Gateway case you see on my page and shelved the case it came in. Later I bought the GeForce 9800 GT graphics card for $99 on sale from TigerDirect, that put it at just under $500. Later on I wanted a better PSU so I got the Corsair for $35 with a $15 rebate. Since I knew I was going to game with it, I also bought the huge CPU cooler you see there, for $25 with including a $15 rebate. So there you have it, a very fine PC that games like a banshee for around $500.
