What kind of geek are you?: knitter, Apple, mama, liberal, nursing student, social, internet

Why do you consider yourself a geek?: Because I'm a Nerd Queen.

How did you find out about our Geek community?: Invited by another geek!

What are your "geeky equipment" specs?: All my friends live in my computer. I have blogged almost every day for the last 5 years. There are 2 adults & 1 toddler in my family, but we have 5 computers; all but one of them are Apple. I learned to knit in order to get a Hogwarts house scarf in "book" Ravenclaw colors: blue & bronze. I do have a particularly bad iPhone addiction as well.

If you want my actual equipment specs, I'm probably accessing this site via my iPhone 3G (Smith), my Macbook Pro (The Oracle) or my beloved old iMac (The Architect). The Oracle & Architect both have RAM I installed myself, and I replaced the Architect's hard drive. My husband finds this to be "hot". He's a gamer geek & collector, and we have 16 different video game consoles. My own favorite is the Nintendo DS, which I play when I'm not being an Internet Nerd or knitting or doing nursing homework. I am fluent in most RPGs and when I'm not listening to Dave Matthews Band or Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, I'm listening to fan arrangements/covers/remixes of video game music. My favorite VG soundtrack is Chrono Trigger (though Legend of Zelda is right up there), my favorite official arrangement is Brink of Time, my favorite fan arranged album is Time & Space by OneUp Studios, and my favorite VGM cover band is The OneUps.

What do you want to be when you grow up?: ER nurse practitioner!

What makes you laugh?: puns, satire, the Burger King King, and my toddler

What is the thing in life you treasure most?: My Family & Family 2.0

What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?: Wow. That's going to take some thinking. I sang on an album of video game music fan arrangements; that's pretty geeky.

Oh, wait. Maybe it's that I named my son "Ganon." Yeah. I think that one's up there. ^_~

What do you do to entertain yourself?: THE INTERNET.

Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?: Dave Matthews Band, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones, the Matrix, the Lord of the Rings, Timo Maas, Apples to Apples, the Legend of Zelda series, the Final Fantasy series, Chrono Trigger, live music, knitting, my iPhone, coffee, coffee, and more coffee. And right now ALL of these things are being neglected in favor of nursing school. Except the coffee.

I know I'm not the only one on this list who remembers elementary/high school PE as torture. Hated it. I wasn't overweight until after college, but in high school I was also not athletic. I was an intellectual; I didn't have a single competitive bone in my whole body. Arkansas Student Nurses Association Conference 2008

I want to write down a few things about the Arkansas Student Nurses Association conference before I forget them.

Liking it around here

So I'm really digging this website. It's a lot of fun & interaction, but I'm thinking about something: there has to be a way to view a timeline of my friends' activities! On FB that's a "news feed" or whatever. There's a public one on the front page, but there has to be a way to limit that. Anyone figured that out yet?

Doctor's Visit

We took Ganon to the doctor this afternoon. A whole week of puking & diarrhea is a bit much for anyone to handle, so we decided to err on the side of caution. Err it was, because all the doctor could tell us is to try and keep him hydrated and to wait it all out. At least he's not very sick, according to Dr. Johnson.
