Oh yea. I suppose that was Joss Whedon's production company even before Firefly. I had friend a bit younger than me back in the late 90's that was into Buffy.
I'm an old geezer that actually saw the first broadcast of the original Star trek back in September of 1966. I've been a fan ever since. But I will say that Whedon blew Trek away with Firefly. I'm a bigger Robert Heinlein fan than a Star Trek fan, and Firefly captured (in my belief) a lot of what Heinlein's stories portrayed. That is to say the people of the future are still "human" and fraught with the same imperfections (drinking, smoking cussing, womanizing, etc).
If you did like Firefly, I highly recommend "The Past Through Tomorrow", a collection of short stories and "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" which Tim Minnear was trying to write a screenplay for a few years back.
