i build computers, im a programmer, im into anime and manga and the likes, and ive been called a geek throughout my life

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Go to college and major in computer science or information technology and become a computer consultant

What is the thing in life you treasure most?
Not being alone.
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
I tend to immediately ask some one with enthusiasm what their computer specs are immediately after they mention their computer even when I a darn well know that they know nothing about computers. I get a lot of weird looks.
What do you do to entertain yourself?
The Internets
Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?
Game: WoW, Fallout, Diablo 2, Exteel, Starcraft
Movies: 300, FF: advent children, Death Note Movies, V for Vendetta
Books: Warhammer 40k books, Sea of Trolls, The Kingdom, Vampire Hunter D series, Twilight series (yeah i read them xD)
Manga: Death Note, Air Gear, Chobits, and more haha
TV shows: Anime in general, Criminal Minds, History Channel
Hobbies: Building computers, playing guitar, music, being with my girlfriend.

Yeah, all 3 Hard Drives are powered and have sata cables connecting them to the hard drive.

well i did install Win7 with only the OS drive plugged in. I did have to image the first hard drive with it on it and image it to another drive because the one i had (a 75GB raptor) was slowly dieing and i knew the signs so i did that before there...

Elaborate on the programs that you are attempting to run as you load up into windows 7 off the hard drives this leads me to believe that this is a software problem and not a hardware if windows 7 starts up correctly etc from the drives in question...

Maybe try another tool, like GParted or Partition Magic, and have a look it. Also try connecting it to another computer, or through USB/eSATA.

its a custom built machine thats less then a year old. Brand new $130 Asus P5Q- Deluxe mobo with 2.66 core 2 duo and 4 GB of ram. I dont think thats limiting it = / im still at a loss >.

Could also be a limitation of the operating system. It might not be recognising the drive properly. Either that or as dan recommended, probably BIOS.

its completely unformatted. I JUST opened the static bag that it came in from newegg. I cant access the drive at all cause it says that the drive needs to be formatted. Then i go to format it and it only allows 53.9 GB = /
