They know when you are in pain as well, regardless of it's visibility. Our remaining 4 cats, I truly believe are still consoling us in our losses of Buddy, Skittles, Hansel and Gretel. They spend a great deal more time around us, and follow us every where. Nothing like in past years.
The loss of Hansel last December seemed like it was to be. Gretel had passed 10 months prior, and Hansel, while we got to spend a great deal more time together, and did many more walks in his last days, seemed like he knew it was time to go and be with his sister again. It is really deep stuff. He would sit out in the front yard and just stare out into nothing particular. Like he was in deep thought. I apologize for praddling on about my babies. It is still painful for me to even think about those moments of great loss. I guess I am hoping that you know (of course you do) that there are many who share a fraction of your grief.
Nothing can ever replace them, but nothing can take away the wonderful memories they have left you with either. Bless you, and while these are difficult times I know, try ever so hard to always think of all of the joy they brought you every day.
While I know we really do not know one another much at all, I truly believe a person that cares for animals as you do, that you are a wonderful person, and your kitties were and are ever so fortunate you are a part of their lives. Best wishes. Kevin
Forever Now :)
