i think its just companies making things to beat out there competition on company makes a dual core at 2.0 ghz and the other makes on with 2.5ghz then the add more cores

- Other then building computers, and overclocking and doing high-tech related stuff...................... staying up countless hours playing video games etc was one of the geekiest stuff i have done, but i no longer do this stuff, and i get good sleep hours in, for better health.

- Actually you shouldn't really "lose" anything in an upgrade, but for safety sake you should back up your laptop data to your other computer before doing the "upgrade". I think the safest way to upgrade is get the same version of Windows 7 as you have with Vista. IE, premium for premium, etc.
The beauty of Win 7 is it performs well on most anything. I have Win 7 Pro on and old Dell P4 3.2 GHz with one gig or RAM, it still glides like the wind. IE 8.0 is smooth as silk on Win 7.0, much smoother then in my XP Pro, where I force it to fly with an ass kicking E8400 w/4 GB. LOL!

- I saw a video capture of some joker who was "sporting off his Mac Pro" running Crysis, he could barely muster 15 FPS. It was hilarious, because of the Macs can't runs games deal, and he actually proved it. LOL!

- Apple, It's all HORRIBLE proprietary layouts, MoBos, hardware configurations, and a total bitch to work on. The only thing you will ever upgrade on a Mac is the RAM, unless you go with the big ugly boat anchor, Mac Pro.

- They should have a line of more upgradable Macs, however I think this is precisely what Apple wants, total control so customers can fk things up so much, cuz then mad customers would come after Apple when they screwed things up. LOL!
