Is there any reason to leave it for 5.0 hours...what about 2-3 hours....would sort of like to see if it works before I go to sleep! Might make me sleep better...smile.

You can pick up an external drive at any place that sells electronics get one thats as big or bigger than your macbook's internal drive

Any old external hard drive should do, they're all the same. When you plug it into your Mac it will ask if you want to use it as a Time Machine drive, so hit yes and follow the instructions. It really can't get any more simple, that's why I love M...

You need to leave it for 5 hours because you are resetting the battery. This is the instructions straight from Apple on how to do it

I just saw around here about a week or so ago somebody had a similar problem with an update. I think they restored to before the update using time Machine or something. It might have been member 'Johannes S', but I don't remember for sure.

Macbook disaster...

I am new to the site, and was referred here by Chris.
He suggested that you all might know what to do ....Help!
My Macbook is about 3 1/2 years old...never any problems...NONE.
I signed on two days ago, after about 3 weeks after having just returned from
a trip. The Macbook was in the brief case for that time, ...started it up and
it asked me if I wanted to download an update...one of the basic programs on
my laptop and I clicked YES...(I forget which update!)
