Profile Information

What kind of geek are you?
I’m a geek of everything tech and media. This means anything from playing with my Mac and iPhone to professional video editing and web development.
Why do you consider yourself a geek?
I’m a video editor with a geek core. Anything from technology to anime keeps me occupied. You can find my professional profile at http://www.evanthies.ca
How did you find out about our Geek community?
When Chris was first talking about it live on the Stream

Media Arsenal:
- HD Camera – Canon XL H1
- Mic - Sennheiser ME66 and Sony ECM-44B Lavalier

What do you want to be when you grow up?
The “before” guy in weight-loss commercials.
What makes you laugh?
Farts
What is the thing in life you treasure most?
My friends and family but next comes all my tech stuff :P
What's the geekiest thing you've ever done?
When most people graduate from high school they want either a car or a tattoo or something big to celebrate their accomplishment. Not me, I wanted to buy myself a high-end camera and a nice computer to do video work. I saved my money, went to college taking a new media program, bought some nice gear and away I went.

I’m a geek, I knew what I wanted and I what I had a passion for and I pursued it. Most people don’t even know what they want to do after high school, let alone blow a ton of money on it. So I’d say that’s the geekiest thing I’ve ever done.
What do you do to entertain yourself?
Usually my entertainment is also my work, I do graphic design, build websites, create videos, etc. With friends I play airsoft, go to hockey games, go to bars, etc.
Favorite music, movies, books, shows, artists, games, people, events, hobbies, etc.?
Music - Too much to list anything from Linkin Park to Enigma to Moby

Movies - Fight Club, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, The Departed, and The Godfather

Books - I work at a bookstore part time, so I always have something on the go. Sadly, some of my favourite books are computer books…

Shows - Prison Break, Heroes, Lost, and Pure Pwnage

Anime - Saiyuki, Ghost in the Shell (movies and series), Gungrave, Slayers, Last Exile, and Trigun

Hey, checked out your site, the demo reel 2008 is a good body of work. The black and white cowboy fight scene? Was that from an old film you re-edited or did you re-design a new soundtrack to it?
