I always wanted a dog and swore my whole life that once I owned my own place I would have one. I originally wanted a pedigree but was warned by friends and family that I should first adopt a rescue dog from a pound so that I would be sure that this what I really wanted before committing to an expenditure of a lot of money. So, at first I adopted a Cairn/Yorkie Terrier Mix and named him Schroeder. When Schroeder was 3 1/2 years old I purchased a Pedigree Female West Highland White Terrier and named her Princess Leia. Schroeder is my $5.00 dog and Princess Leia is my $500.00 dollar dog. When Princess Leia was almost 4 years I let her mate with a Male Westie and she had 2 puppies. I kept one of the puppies (both male) and named him Bert. So, now I have 3 Terriers and am very happy. Schroeder is now 11 years old and I am going to be very upset when he is no longer with us. For right now he is healthy and happy.
