ok. what is DVI-d?? i have a dvi to vga port and it will not fix in my dvi. it says div-d
you'll wanna just set it all up in your display properties and have your laptop display...just make sure the use this device as the primary monitor box is checked
the other monitors should show as 2 and 3

They have this little box you can use that supports three monitors, chris did a video on it too, I cant seem to find it now.
Yeah but if you buy to VGA to DVI adaptor and then the DVI to HDMI cable its a lot cheaper.

Yeah its good bang for its buck, and since your not doing gaming its fine but you really dont need a GPU, this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999901 will do fine.
You are better off just using the original hdd or installing from your windows disc. Windows will not boot from an external, especially a clone.
Make an ISO image and then put it on the external hard drive it much easier.
