I love fantasy and sci-fi computer games, TV shows, movies, and books, I obsess over the movie business, I have a BSE in civil and environmental engineering and am going for a Ph.D. in oceanography.
How did you find out about our Geek community?
I did a search at ning for groups related to sci-fi and fantasy. (How is this a required question that must appear in our profiles? How could the answer possibly be interesting? Am I supposed to say something like "The Force"?)
What are your "geeky equipment" specs?
All I need is my trusty ASUS F8 laptop with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT (at the time I got it, that was about as good as it got for small laptops)
What do you want to be when you grow up?
An oceanographer! Swimming with dolphins and sea otters and--No wait, just kidding, I'm a computer modeling oceanographer.

It was our professor’s attempt to break the ice and ease us gently into the semester – I asked the question; whose the psychotic and whose the sociopath, Batman or the Joker?... and so began that semester’s strange and quirky odyssey (which one do you think it is?)
Incidentally, LofR’s was screened on UK TV over three consecutive weekends, I’d forgotten how poignant and gripping some of the imagery is.
It was truly inspirational! We painted, wrote and played our songs and spent the hot summer evenings rowing on the lakes drinking beer and met some weird, strange and unique people along the way. Berliners sure know how to throw a good party and to our credit we were game! But it taught us an important lesson too– its not stuff that changes the world but a few good people in a room and for those two weeks it was us! Yay us!
On a side note - I'm impressed in your choice of films - weirdly enough, and it wasn't my doing or my choice, I wrote a psychological profile on Batman at university - when I watched the Dark Knight, boy did I have a huge grin!
I've been to Berlin a couple of times, and it has always been one of my favorite cities. We went their because, we were psychology grads, and musically/artistically inclined and we wanted to go and see the place that inspired David Bowie and Brian Eno (we had delusions of grandeur then – mind you that was back in 2006)

There are 12 at the moment--11 in the main series and one that's a prequel. It was planned that there would be 12 in the main series, but looking at Wikipedia (for what that's worth), it seems like there will be three new books (total of 14)! The ...
